Welcome, Luke Lanham!

Scenic Rivers to host 2024-2025 Chesapeake Conservation & Climate Corps member 

Thanks to generous funding from the Chesapeake Bay Trust, Scenic Rivers is thrilled to welcome our first-ever Chesapeake Conservation & Climate Corps member, Luke Lanham, to the team!  

Luke kicked off his year of service in mid-August at the annual “Passing of the Golden Shovel,” ceremony along with the other members of the 2024-2025 cohort. 

Luke is a 2024 graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he earned his BA in environmental studies with focuses in the fields of environmental science and environmental humanities. While at St. Mary’s, Luke participated in various projects including developing and implementing environmental education lessons with a local charter school, as well as assisting at St. Mary’s campus farm.  In 2023, Luke was accepted into the Land Trust Alliance’s Scholars for Conservation Leadership Program and was invited to attend Rally 2023 in Portland, OR.
