CANCELLED: Winter Hike with Arundel Rivers Federation and Scenic Rivers Land Trust

Due to the expected rain and warming temperatures, we must cancel the hike scheduled for tomorrow morning (1/25/20) at 10 am at Bacon Ridge Natural Area.

Though we love being outdoors in almost any weather, it would be poor trail stewardship to head out on muddy, soggy trails. When hiking in the winter, it is important to remember that the best days for hiking are when the ground is frozen, which helps preserve the integrity of the trails.

Keep those New Year’s resolutions to spend more time outdoors going with a Winter Hike at the beautiful Bacon Ridge Natural Area in Crownsville!

Arundel Rivers Federation and Scenic Rivers Land Trust are partnering to take you on a guided hike of this 1000+ acre protected, public asset at the heart of our county. Staff from each organization will be on hand to point out important ecological features of the area, discuss why we work to protect and restore our county’s natural, undeveloped areas, and share how you can get involved.

The hike is open to all ages and skill levels, though please note that these are unpaved trails and the terrain can be hilly. The hike will be approximately 1-2 miles.
