Josh Falk
Executive Director
Josh Falk is a lifelong Annapolitan with a deep commitment to conservation, education, and social change. With over 20 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, and program development, Josh has successfully built and scaled initiatives that drive impact at local, state, and national levels.
Before joining Scenic Rivers, Josh was the founding partner of Swanfall Strategies, where he advised nonprofits on strategic growth, board governance, capacity building, and fundraising, helping organizations secure multi-million-dollar funding. Previously, he led national environmental and youth engagement programs at the National League of Cities, National Wildlife Federation, and National Environmental Education Foundation, overseeing large-scale initiatives that connected communities to nature and secured transformative philanthropic and government investments.
Josh’s leadership extends beyond his professional work. He serves on the Board of Directors for Charting Careers and The Complete Player Charity, and he has been an active advocate for equity and access in Anne Arundel County. A graduate of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, Josh holds a Master’s in Leadership and Management, further strengthening his ability to drive organizational success.
A skilled fundraiser and relationship-builder, Josh has successfully cultivated major donor gifts, corporate partnerships, and government grants. His work has directly contributed to expanding conservation efforts, developing community-driven programs, and advancing public-private collaborations that enhance environmental stewardship.
When not working, Josh enjoys paddling and mountain biking with his wife, Hilary, and their sons, Finn and Jackson, exploring the landscapes he is dedicated to preserving.
