Erin Valentine

Erin joined the Scenic Rivers team in 2019. A communications and fundraising professional with over 20 years of experience helping nonprofits further their missions through well-crafted messaging, Erin executes Scenic Rivers' annual fundraising and public outreach plans, to build awareness and secure resources for Scenic Rivers' conservation and stewardship programs.

Prior to joining Scenic Rivers, Erin was the Development and Communications Coordinator for the Chesapeake Bay Trust, where she was responsible for communications, fundraising, and event planning activities. Prior to that, she was a developmental editor for the Water Environment Federation in Alexandria, Virginia, which fostered her passion for water and nature-based climate solutions. She was a managing editor for the Association of International CPAs for 10 years, a production manager for Pearson Prentice Hall in Boston, and started her career at the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, in Atlanta, Georgia.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. Originally from beautiful western Maryland, Erin has always loved the woods and is thrilled to play a role in helping to conserve the scenic and natural lands of Anne Arundel County.
