Celebrate Maryland Day Weekend outside in your local woods! Scenic Rivers’ staff are once again creating materials to help you explore for landscape clues on a self-guided hike of history-rich Bacon Ridge Natural Area in Crownsville. Following the trail guide and posted signs, you’ll learn how humans and nature have interacted to make the landscape we see today, all while enjoying the beautiful 1,000+ acre protected forest.
All ages welcome, but beware it is an unpaved trail through the woods. Dogs on leashes welcome. Length: 2-4 miles.
Trail guides will be posted online for download by March 18, 2021. Trail signs will be posted by March 19, 2021.
