Stewardship Training 6/28 6:30pm-8pm

Stewardship Training
Tuesday, June 28

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Building
177 Admiral Cochrane Drive
Annapolis, MD 21401

Calling all volunteers! We need help stewarding all 62 of our easements this year. If you would like to help us do so and get to enjoy the outdoors while visiting beautiful properties, please come!

Stewardship involves contacting a conservation easement landowner, phyically visiting and walking around a property that has a conservation easement placed on it, and taking pictures and notes about how the property is being managed (usually a 1-2 hour visit). Stewards finish their visit, and log their pictures and observations in the Scenic Rivers Monitoring Report Form, and send it to Sarah Knebel (another 1-2 hours). She will be happy to answer any questions you have.

This training will walk you through the process of how to interact with landowners, what to look for on properties, how to record pictures and observations including filliing out the Monitoring Report Form. It's simple to learn!

The perks of being a steward volunteer is you get the chance to visit beautiful private properties and enjoy walking in the outdoors while helping a land trust ensure that all of the land in conserveration easement is being taken care of properly.

Volunteers need to be 18 years or older.
